The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed wide receiver Jerome Simpson to a one-year contract, the team announced Friday. Simpson originally signed with the Vikings in 2012 after spending three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Simpson, 28, had 48 receptions for 726 yards and a touchdown last season. He has scored eight touchdowns in his career. He was second on the team in receiving yards last year with 726, his career-high.
He could be facing a suspension after a November 2013 DUI arrest.
The Vikings also announced Friday the signing of cornerback Derek Cox. The five-year veteran spent four years with Jacksonville before spending 2013 with the Chargers. He had 34 tackles last season.
