A 2014 Sochi Olympian and Bloomington native will return to Minnesota Friday evening to kick off Afton Alps Epic season pass sales.
From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. the public is invited to ski with Keri Herman, a Team USA Freestyle Skier. After the ski session, she will address the crowd about her beginnings as a skier in Minnesota.
Herman played four years of varsity ice hockey for Visitation High School in Mendota Heights. But at the age of 31, she became an Olympian in skiing. She now lives in Breckenridge, Colo. While she has lived there since 2004, her family still lives in Bloomington and will join in welcoming her home to Minnesota after competing in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.
Eventgoers will also have the option for autographs and the chance to win a small group skiing package with Herman.
