Mr. Basketball's Five Finalists Announced

The five finalists for the 2014 Mr. Basketball Award have been announced. Wheeler Baker, Brian Goodwin, Tyus Jones, J.P. Macura, and Reid Travis all have a chance to win the award given to the best senior basketball player. The announcement will be made following the Boys' State Basketball Tournament, which takes place this week.

Baker, a 6-foot-2-inch senior from Osseo, will face Shakopee in a Class AAAA state quarterfinal on Wednesday.

Goodwin is a 6-foot-4-inch guard for Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa. He will play against Park Christian in a Class A quarterfinal on Thursday morning.

Jones is a 6-foot-1-inch senior for Apple Valley. He will play for Duke University next season.

Macura is a 6-foot-6-inch senior at Lakeville North. He will play against Buffalo in a Class AAAA quarterfinal on Wednesday.

Travis is a 6-foot-8-inch senior at De La Salle. The Islanders will play St. Paul Central in the Class AAA quarterfinals on Wednesday. Travis will play at Stanford University next season.
