Hopkins Beats Eden Prairie, Advances to State Boys Basketball Tournament

The Hopkins Royals once again punch their dance ticket to the Minnesota State Boys Basketball Tournament beating Eden Prairie 77-64.  This game was a definite track meet.  In the first half, Hopkins had a 15 point lead before Eden Prairie mounted a comeback to tie the game at 35-35 at the half.

The second half started out the same way as the first, Hopkins outscored Eden Prairie in one stretch 27-9, but this time Eden Prairie couldn't overcome that big of a deficit, Hopkins wins 77-64.  The Royals were led by sophomore Amir Coffey who scored a team high 20 points.

This game even had some star power in the crowd, North Carolina Head Coach Roy Williams was in attendance to watch Coffey play.
