The University of Minnesota wrestling team has been strong all year long, so it's no surprise it finished as the top-ranked team in the final National Wrestling Coaches Association poll Tuesday. Minnesota collected all 10 first-place votes for the second consecutive week, finishing ahead of Big Ten rivals Penn State and Iowa.

Last Sunday, Minnesota (14-1, 7-1 Big Ten) finished off its regular season with a 27-12 win over Iowa State. That followed a 24-15 win over Cornell to secure the school's third-straight National Duels title.

The Gophers will now prepare for the Big Ten Tournament to be held March 8 and 9 in Madison, Wis. The Big Ten had nine teams ranked within the Top 25 in the final poll.

The Gophers finished the regular season 14-1.
