As we near the trade deadline for the NBA, KSTP's Darren Wolfson caught up with Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor. As of Wednesday afternoon, Taylor said no trades are likely but he is willing to take back long term money if a deal were to be reached.

"We're in communications," is all Taylor could say about the possibilities of a trade by Thursday afternoon's deadline. "I'm not aware of anything that is a magic formula."

The Timberwolves also made headlines Wednesday when their All-Star Forward Kevin Love discussed leaving the team in GQ magazine.

In the article, Love said: "People think it's so far-fetched that I would stay in Minnesota,” he says. “And I'm not sh***ng on the Lakers, but we have the better team, the better foundation. I'm having fun.”

Taylor said the comments are consistent with what he already had heard from Love. When asked if Love would be traded, Taylor responded "Flip [Saunders] doesn't even bring [the proposals] to me."

Heading into Wednesday night's matchup with the Indiana Pacers, the Timberwolves sit at 25-28 in the Western Conference, six games out of the playoffs.

Taylor said he's disappointed in how the season has turned out so far.

"I'm disappointed we've lost these close games," he said.

Following Wednesday's home game against Indiana, Minnesota hits the road for five games, where the team is 10-17 this season. Only two games are against teams with a record above .500.

Despite the record, Taylor thinks the Timberwolves still have a chance to make the playoffs, though not a realistic one.

"Realistic isn't the right word. Challenge is," he said. "Possible? Yes. We have to win games. It's a challenge."

Glen Taylor, right, is disappointed his Minnesota Timberwolves haven't been able to win the close games this season.
