Even as a 14-year veteran, Denver Nuggets guard Andre Miller has no control over what will happen before Thursday afternoon's trade deadline.
But multiple sources close to the situation insist he has let it be known that his No. 1 preference is a trade to the Timberwolves.
The Nuggets, sources say, aren't interested in a 1-for-1 swap involving Timberwolves guard J.J. Barea.
Miller, 37, hasn't played since December 30 after a feud with coach Brian Shaw. He is signed through the 2014-15 season at approximately $5 million/year, but only $2 million is guaranteed next year.
Denver general manager Tim Connelly and Wolves president of operations Flip Saunders and general manager Milt Newton worked together in Washington.
Trade talks will continue until 2 p.m. CT on Thursday.
