Proposed changes to the structure of high school football in Minnesota will be discussed by the Minnesota State High School League Board of Directors Thursday.

The Board will look at football regular-season scheduling, the 2015 football playoff schedule and when the 2015-16 regular season will start.

The MSHSL is considering district-based football scheduling, where teams are grouped into conferences based on each school's enrollment size and geography.

MSHSL Associate Director Kevin Merkle and KSTP-TV Sports Director Joe Schmit stopped by KSTP for a a roundtable discussion.

With the closing of the Metrodome, the Prep Bowl will be played at TCF Bank Stadium the next two seasons.
