It was the most impressive streak this state has seen in a long time, but the Gopher Women's hockey team finally saw their 62 game winning streak come to an end Sunday against North Dakota. They hadn't lost a game in 640 days.
The University of North Dakota beat the Gophers 3-2 Sunday at Ridder Arena.
"We're not sad that it's over," Gophers head coach Brad Frost said after the game, "We're happy that we were part of it. I'll tip my hat to any team that can go to 62 or 63 games without a loss."
The Gophers last loss was also to North Dakota on February 12, 2012.
