Defending Class A State Football Champions Minneota will play for a title in Class AA this year after a resounding state semifinal win over Maple Lake.

Paced by Jeff Gladis' 171 yards, Minneota used a strong ground game to defeat Maple Lake 50-24.

Minneota quarterback Austin Buysee and Jordan Beck connected for two touchdowns.  Nathan Pavek scored twice more on the ground for the victorious Vikings.

The Irish cut Minneota's lead to 21-16 in the second quarter, but surrendered 29 straight points thereafter.

Minneota returns to the Prep Bowl - one class higher than last year - against either Chatfield or Hawley in the AA Championship on November 29th.

The Minneota Vikings celebrate their return to the Prep Bowl after defeating Maple Lake in the Class AA Semifinals at the Metrodome on Thursday night.
