The Edina girls' tennis team won the Minnesota state tournament for the 17th consecutive year on Wednesday at the University of Minnesota. They beat Minnetonka 5-2 in the class 2A team championship.

"It certainly doesn't get old.  Each year is a different year," Edina coach Steve Paulsen said. "I'm just so proud of the kids for the effort they put in. Not only during the season, but in the offseason, and I couldn't be happier for the kids. They've worked really hard for this."

Paulsen has captured 18 state championships in his 22 years at Edina.

Breck School defeated Rochester Lourdes 6-1 to win the class 1A state championship.
