Edina Girls' Tennis Team Wins State

The Edina girls' tennis team won the Minnesota state tournament for the 17th consecutive year on Wednesday at the University of Minnesota. They beat Minnetonka 5-2 in the class 2A team championship.

"It certainly doesn't get old.  Each year is a different year," Edina coach Steve Paulsen said. "I'm just so proud of the kids for the effort they put in. Not only during the season, but in the offseason, and I couldn't be happier for the kids. They've worked really hard for this."

Paulsen has captured 18 state championships in his 22 years at Edina.

Breck School defeated Rochester Lourdes 6-1 to win the class 1A state championship.
