Matt Cassel will be the Vikings quarterback this weekend in London when the team plays the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Head Coach Leslie Frazier announced on Friday that the team has ruled four players out, including starting QB Christian Ponder for Sunday’s game in London vs. the Steelers
Early Friday morning, the Vikings confirmed the news about Cassel. Cassel addressed the media and discussed being named Sunday's starting quarterback after the team's practice on Friday.
“I’ve been preparing for this, and I feel like I’m ready to go,” he said. “I had a good week of practice, so now it’s about going out there and executing on Sunday.”
The Vikings will also be without starting cornerback Chris Cook (groin injury) and starting safety Jamarca Sanford (hamstring injury).
