Minnesota Twins Unveil Logo for Next Year's All-Star Game

In just about one year, Major League Baseball's All-Star Game will take place at Target Field.

Excitement is building as the Minnesota Twins unveiled their official logo for the game Tuesday.

There was an all-star cast for the unveiling of the logo, including current and former Twins players, Twins owners and elected officials.

Twins players and Minnesota natives Joe Mauer and Glen Perkins went to this year's All-Star-Game in New York two weeks ago, and say bringing the event home will be great. "Every city is different and I know here in Minnesota we'd put on a great show," said Mauer.

The city's tourism bureau estimates at least 160,000 fans will be here for the festivities. Mayor R.T. Rybak says his city is already working on a big event. "We are doing everything humanly possible to make sure this city looks great and is ready for this event," said Rybak.

2014 will mark the third time the Twins ballpark has hosted baseball's mid-summer classic, once at each stadium.

The first was back in 1965 as Harmon Killebrew put on a show at Met Stadium.

Twenty years later it was at the Metrodome, and next year Target Field will join the club.
