Wild Recall Harding, Dowell, and Veilleux From Houston
Minnesota Wild goaltender Josh Harding was back at practice Monday morning for the team. He was recalled from the Houston Aeros on Monday after a brief two-game stint in the AHL.
Harding has missed more than two months as he adjusted to new medication to battle his multiple sclerosis. He will serve as the immediate backup to starting goaltender Niklas Backstrom.
Harding was recalled Monday along with veteran forwards Jake Dowell and Stephane Veilleux.
Minnesota reassigned rookie goaltender Darcy Kuemper and rookie forwards Mikael Granlund and Jason Zucker to make room for the three call-ups.
Harding was 1-1-0 in his brief AHL stint. He has only played in four games at the NHL level this season and was 1-1-0 with a 2.92 goals-against average in those contests.
Minnesota Wild head coach Mike Yeo would not rule out the potential of Harding seeing action in the final stretch of the regular season, but said he will not play against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night.
Dowell had four goals and five assists in 37 games with the Aero this season and Veilleux had three goals and five assists in his AHL action.
