Gophers Advance to Women's Frozen Four Championship Game

Sarah Davis scored 1:39 into overtime and Minnesota beat Boston College 3-2 on Friday in the NCAA Women's Frozen Four semifinals for its 48th straight victory.
Corinne Broyles stopped a slap shot by Bethany Brausen, but Davis picked up the rebound, skated left and lifted a shot behind the sprawling netminder.
Hannah Brandt and Becky Kortum scored third-period goals for the Gophers (40-0-0), the defending national champion. Noora Raty finished with 26 saves.
Minnesota will face Boston University, a 4-1 winner over Mercyhurst, on Sunday in the final.
Emily Field and Lexi Bender scored for the Eagles (27-7-3).
Field scored on the power play late in the second period for Boston College, and Brandt countered early in the third with a power-play goal for the Gophers. Kortum and Bender scored 2 minutes apart late in the period.
