INTERVIEW: Red Bull Crashed Ice Round 2

Red Bull Crashed Ice in St. Paul is coming back.

KSTP’s Megan Newquist talked to Team USA Coach Charlie Wasley.

Last year, the event attracted more than 100,000 people, and Wasley said they expect to grab more with the new features.

The course this year will be a faster, more difficult course that will be more skating intensive.

There will be 100 athletes from the U.S. competing along with 100 additional international athletes.

The best athletes that qualify for Red Bull Crashed Ice are those who can skate and take air at the same time, Wasley said. People who have hockey, snowboarding, skiing or other winter sports background tend to have the best luck in the course.

The action goes from 7-10 p.m., Jan. 24-26 at the St. Paul Cathedral.
