Lucia is 10th Coach to Reach 600 Wins

nullSeth Ambroz's second goal of the game with 3:35 to play snapped a tie and led top-ranked Minnesota to a milestone 3-2 win over Michigan Tech Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

The win by the Gophers (3-1-0, 1-1-0) was the 600th of head coach Don Lucia's career. He is the 10th NCAA Division I coach to reach that plateau.

Ambroz scored the game's first goal late in the first period and the teams exchanged goals from that point on. Michigan Tech's Chad Pietila tied it early in the second but the Gophers went back on to on Erik Haula's goal midway through the period.

Michigan Tech's Ryan Furne got the equalizer at 19:03 of the second period, and it stayed that way until Ambroz broke the tie.

Adam Wilcox had 16 saves for the Gophers, while Pheonix Copley had 31 for the Huskies (2-2-0, 1-1-0).
