Hockey Stars Zach Parise, Ryan Suter Talk Upcoming Season

Minnesota Wild owner Craig Leipold officially welcomed Zach Parise and Ryan Suter to the State of Hockey at a press conference Monday.

Parise and Suter jerseys have been flying off the shelves since the Minnesota Wild announced it signed the two hockey stars.

Leipold shelled out $196 million for the free-agents.

The price tag for the two top players on the market certainly gave him pause. But Leipold says the ability to fill two gaping holes on the roster and accelerate the team's rebuilding plans couldn't be passed up.

At the press-conference, Suter said they are both very excited to be part of the organization, and they see the talent of the organization.

When asked about leadership skills, Parise said they're both lead by example type of guys, both on and off the ice. He said if something needs to be said at certain times, it can and will be. Suter added if everyone's on the same page and someone's not pulling their weight, they'll know who they are.

From playing the Wild in the past Suter said, '"they come at you hard, they played a good system this last year. They had a lot of back pressure so it was hard for our forwards offensively... and they're a very good team."

Parise said he knew he wanted to play at home, and wanted to finish his career at home so there was no hesitancy in signing a thirteen year contract with the Minnesota Wild.
