During a news conference Friday morning, University of Minnesota men's basketball coach Richard Pitino talked about recent team performance, briefly touching on recent allegations against center Reggie Lynch.

"Adversity has hit the team," Pitino said. "I don't want to act like it's not substantially different - it is. But it's my job to get them feeling great about themselves and all the good things that they're about and get them excited to go play a top five team in your building on national TV."

This week, the university's Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action recommended immediate expulsion as a third sexual assault allegation emerged against Lynch.

An attorney for Lynch said Lynch "categorically and vehemently" denies allegations of sexual misconduct.

Lynch was suspended from games last week but allowed to continue practicing while he appeals.
