New Gophers football coach P.J. Fleck has a big fan in former Gophers linebacker and current ESPN analyst Pete Najarian.

Fleck, 36, was hired by the Gophers on Friday, and already has secured 10 verbal commitments from high school players. National Signing Day is Feb. 1.

Najarian stressed that Fleck is an excellent recruiter, but also can deliver on the field too. He has called some of Western Michigan's games for ESPN the last four years. In other words, he got a close look at Fleck, and has had time to interact with him.

KSTP's Darren Wolfson sat down with Najarian on Monday to gain insight about Fleck.
