Minnetonka Rallies to Beat Prior Lake in 6A Quarterfinals

Minnetonka scored their only touchdown of the game with 1:12 remaining in the 4th quarter to beat Prior Lake 10-6 in the Class 6A State Quarterfinals Friday night in Osseo.

Minnetonka quarterback Aaron Syverson connected with Jackson Owens for the game-winning 15-yard touchdown. The Skippers' Jack Beil came down with an interception to end it on Prior Lake's final possession.


Prior Lake took the lead with :51 left in the first quarter when Preston Jelen ran 56-yards for a touchdown to make it 6-0.

Minnetonka's Grant Altman booted a 30-yard field with :35 left in the second quarter to cut Prior Lake's lead to 6-3 at halftime.

The Skippers will face Cretin-Derham Hall in the state semifinals.
