The Gophers were swept last weekend at Penn State, falling one point short of hosting a playoff series this weekend. Instead, the Gophers are heading back to State College, Pennsylvania looking to solidify their NCAA Tournament bid. They are currently tied for 9th in the Pairwise rankings, the formula used to help select the NCAA Tourney Field of 16. The Gophers could also run the table in the Big Ten Tournament and earn an automatic bid.

The Frozen Four semifinals in college hockey are in St. Paul, April 5 with the title game on April 7.
