The Minnesota Vikings are in complete control of the NFC North and they're doing it with a back-up quarterback and without their dynamic play-making rookie running back.
Case Keenum had another strong game against the Lions - throwing two touchdown passes and running for another. Since taking over for injured Sam Bradford, he's 7-2 as a starter and also led them to a win over Chicago in relief of Bradford.
Running back Latavius Murray has also stepped up since Dalvin Cook was lost for the season with a knee injury. Murray ran for 84 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' 30-23 win on Thanksgiving.
"Maybe it's good we went through some of the issues we had last year," Zimmer said at the Vikings' practice facility on Friday. "I think a lot of it is the players themselves, they're pretty tough minded guys."
The Vikings visit the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, December 3rd.
