Lindsay Whalen Returns to Lynx Practice Ahead of Playoffs

September 06, 2017 03:18 PM

When the Lynx host their first playoff game of 2017 next week at Williams Arena, it will be the first time Lindsay Whalen plays in a game since August 3rd. Whalen practiced Wednesday for the first time since she broke her finger in a game against the Atlanta Dream, and is hoping to make an impact in the opening round of the playoffs.

Whalen spoke to the media on Wednesday afternoon, and said she felt good in her first practice back. Head coach Cheryl Reeve said that although Whalen remained involved during her injury on the bench and in the film room, it will be great to have her back in the lineup.

The Lynx won't play their first playoff game until Tuesday, September 12th, and they will be playing away from Xcel Energy Center, where they played during the regular season. They are looking forward to seeing the different energy at Williams, and Whalen, who played for the Gophers from 2000-2004, is excited to return to her old stomping grounds.
