Holy Angels Claims 4A Title; Beats Cloquet 14-0

The Academy of Holy Angels took home their first state football championship with a 14-0 win over Cloquet in the Class 4A title game at the Prep Bowl.

The Stars held Cloquet's high-powered offense to 216 total yards and the game featured a combined 10 turnovers.


Holy Angels connected on the biggest play of the game in the first quarter when senior quarterback Joseph Heimbold hooked up with senior receiver Ryan Mazurek for a 46-yard touchdown. Thomas Shelstad added a one-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Holy Angels was the Class 4A runner-up in 2005 and 2013.
