Hamline men's hockey coach Cory Laylin is serving as an assistant coach on the Team USA Under-18 Men's Select Team that will compete in the Ivan Hlinka Cup Tournament this week.

The tournament will be held in Breclav in the Czech Republic and Bratislava in Slovakia. Laylin was the head coach of the USA Under-17 team, which won the Five Nations Cup last summer, after serving as an assistant with the team the year before.

The St. Cloud Apollo graduate and former University of Minnesota standout played on the Team USA Select 17 team himself in 1987.

Laylin has lead Hamline to a berth in the MIAC playoffs in each of his first three seasons at the school.

Team USA will meet Sweden, Switzerland and the Czech Republic in preliminary round games.
