Gophers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. tweeted on Monday night that he has been cleared of any possible connection to an alleged sexual assault on campus in early September.

“These couple of months have been nothing short of a nightmare for me and I want to thank everyone who has reached out to me and shown nothing but love,” Winfield wrote in a message on Twitter. “Today I have officially been cleared and I am excited to tear up the field for my brothers and my gophers  fans. Gods always got me. Let’s get to work! #RTB”

Sources tell KSTP's Darren Wolfson that running back Kobe McCrary and quarterback/wide receiver Mark Williams have also been cleared.

The woman appealed the original decisions set forth for Winfield Jr. and McCrary. Williams appealed his recommended punishment.

Cornerback Kiante Hardin had his appeal denied, a source tells Wolfson. So he is now officially expelled.

Carlton Djam also had his appeal denied, he remains suspended for one year.

The Gophers' No. 3 spring practice is Tuesday afternoon. Presumably, Winfield Jr., McCrary, and Williams will be allowed onto the field.
