Gophers Softball Team Wins B10 Tourney; Will Face Texas in 1st Rd of NCAAs

The Gophers softball team scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back in a 9-6 win over Northwestern in the championship game of the Big Ten Tournament. The victory gives the Gophers three straight Big Ten Tournament championships and they've won four of the last five.

Dani Wagner and Allie Arneson each hit two-run home runs in the game. Wagner, Maddie Houlihan, Kendyl Lindaman and MaKenna Partain each were name to the All-Big Ten Tournament team.

The win also gave the Gophers (39-15) an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. They will face Texas (32-24) in the Seattle Regional at 8pm central Friday night. Host team and 5th overall seed Washington (44-8) takes on Boise State (40-14) at 10:30pm.
