The Gophers softball team won the Big Ten regular season championship, the conference tournament, and finished 54-3. Yet they were deemed not worthy of being one of the 16 host schools for this weekend's regionals.

We spoke with coach Jessica Allister on Monday morning, and she expressed disappointment, saying, "Life's not fair."

The Gophers finished 16-3 against teams in the NCAA Tournament.

The Gophers' first NCAA Tournament game is Friday at 1:30 p.m. vs. Louisiana Tech in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Alabama, the No. 16 overall seed, is the host school.

If the Gophers advance beyond this weekend, there's a good chance they'll connect with No. 1 overall seed Florida in their super regional.
