Gopher Softball Heads to Big Ten Tourney as Top Seed

After unprecedented success in the regular season, the Gopher softball team heads into the postseason - starting with the Big Ten Tournament this weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The Gophers are currently ranked #2 in the nation by Baseball America.  It's the highest ranking in program history.


It comes amid a 23-game win streak that is the longest in program history, and the team's 51 wins are also a team record.

This week, the team swept the Big Ten Awards:

  • Kendyl Lindaman was named Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year
  • Sara Groenewegen earned Pitcher of the Year honors
  • Jessica Allister is the Big Ten's Coach of the Year
