Edina Beats Blake in Clash of the Champions; Hornets Advance to State Tournament

The Edina Hornets girls hockey team outlasted Blake 4-2 Friday night in the Section 6AA Championship Game in Minneapolis. 

It was a matchup of the two state champions from last year with Blake winning the Class 1A title before moving up to Class 2A this season. Edina is the defending champion in Class 2A.


Edina's Aliyah Lance tied the game at 2-2 with a second remaining in the second period. Ms. Hockey finalist Emily Oden then scored the game-winning goal on a power play in the third period. Annie Kuehl had a goal and and two assists for the Hornets.

UPDATE: Edina earned the top-seed in Class 2A of the 2018 Girls' State Hockey Tournament.
