Boys Hoops: Cretin-Derham Hall, Future Gopher Oturu Dominate Wayzata in 4A Quarterfinals

Cretin-Derham Hall played the part of the top seed in the Class AAAA field with a 70-48 victory over Wayzata in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at Target Center. 

University of Minnesota recruit Daniel Oturu, a 6-foot-10 senior forward, powered the Raiders (28-2) with 24 points, nine rebounds and eight blocked shots in 33 minutes of play. Senior forward Sy Chatman scored 14 of his 22 points in the first half when the Raiders built a 40-22 lead at the break.

Senior forward Jacob Prince also contributed nine points and nine rebounds, for the Raiders, who led by as many as 26 points in the second half. 

Wayzata (18-12), which defeated top-seeded Hopkins to win the Section 6AAAA crown, got 15 points from junior guard Jacob Beeninga. He also had seven rebounds, three assists and a block.
