Lucius Brothers, Barely Teenagers, Have Committed to Play Hockey for Gophers

January 02, 2018 03:30 PM

The Minnesota Gophers men's hockey team saw enough out of Chaz and Cruz Lucius that they offered scholarships to the 13 and 14-year-old stars from Gentry Academy in Vadnais Heights earlier this year.

Chaz is the older brother and is being viewed as one of the best 14-year-old players in the country. Younger brother Cruz is on the heels of his older brother by also being seen as a player with tremendous hockey instincts. Gophers men's hockey coach Don Lucia couldn't pass up on the brothers and offered them full scholarships to play for the University of Minnesota. Both said yes.
