Mittelstadt Scores Overtime Game-Winner Against #1 Notre Dame

Freshman Casey Mittelstadt scored with 1:25 left in overtime to give the Gophers men's hockey team a 1-0 win over top-ranked Notre Dame Friday night at 3M Arena at Mariucci.

Gophers goalie Mat Robson made 25 saves to earn the shutout. He is now 4-1 this season.


The Gophers had a tough time beating Notre Dame goalie Cale Morris who leads the nation in wins and save percentage. Morris made 32 saves, but suffered the loss when Mittelstadt pounced on a Rem Pitlick rebound in overtime.
