If Trump's relationship with Russia was complicated before, it became more-so following news that Russia likely had advanced knowledge of the April 4 chemical attack that killed at least 70 people. Trump responded by launching a barrage of cruise missiles at a Syrian air base in what amounted to the first direct American military assault on the Syrian government.
Local lawmakers might be enjoying Easter/Passover break, but when they return to the State Capitol they will be tasked with ironing out differences among budget proposals. Republicans have a chance to showcase a lower-taxes, lower-spending philosophy, while Gov. Mark Dayton looks to preserve much more of the $1.65-billion surplus.
