In tonight's Political Insider, Tom Hauser and our analysts discuss Gov. Mark Dayton's decision to veto a line item funding the State Legislature while at the same time leaving a tax bill unsigned and signing the remaining budget bills. The decision means there will be no state government shutdown, but keeps alive the possibility of another special session to iron out the vetoed line item.
At a press conference announcing his decision Tuesday, the governor made no secret his ire regarding the "poison pill" he said Republicans inserted into the tax bill that would have eliminated all funding for the state Department of Revenue through 2019 if the bill wasn't enacted.
