Former St. Paul mayor Chris Coleman has announced Monday he is ending his campaign for governor.
Coleman garnished just 11.85 percent of the vote in the straw poll at last week's DFL state-wide caucuses. He finished behind winner Tim Walz, as well as fellow candidates Rebecca Otto and Erin Murphy.
He made the announcement he was ending his bid via a post to his campaign's Facebook page.
"For the past 15 months, I've had the incredible opportunity to travel to every area of Minnesota and meet with people from all different walks of life," the post read. "I am grateful for the support and encouragement I have received. So, it is with a heavy heart that I announce today the suspension of my campaign for Governor of Minnesota.
"Minnesota is a special state with truly amazing residents. Hearing your stories, your hopes and fears, was an inspiration as I did the hard work of campaigning to be your Governor."
