Former Minnesota GOP chair Keith Downey will hold a news conference Monday where it's expected he'll make an announcement regarding whether he plans to run for governor.
The news conference will be at 10 a.m. on the steps of the Centennial Office Building in St. Paul, according to a release.
Dowey had been chair of the state GOP for four years but said in January he would not run for a third term. He has previously said he was considering a run for governor.
If he announces he'll run, Downey would join six DFLers, four Republicans and one independent who have declared intentions to run.
