The victim of a fatal stabbing on the 2200 block of Lake Street East Tuesday night has been identified.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, 26-year-old Daquan Lee Thompson was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center following the incident, where he later died. It was determined he died as a result of a stab wound to the chest.

The Minneapolis Police Department stated 43-year-old Frank Runningshield Jr. is being held at the Hennepin County Jail on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.

Investigators have said they believe the Runningshield Jr. and Thompson knew each other.
