Veterans Day Ceremonies Around the Metro

On June 1, 1954, Nov. 11 became a day to honor all American veterans of all wars. Today it remains to celebrate and honor veterans for their service, sacrifices and patriotism.

Here is a list of events observing the holiday:

Official State of Minnesota Veterans Day Ceremony

Where: Veterans Memorial Community Center, 8055 Barbra Avenue, Inver Grove Heights

When: Breakfast at 8:30 a.m., ceremony at 10 a.m.


Capitol's Annual Veterans Day Program

Where: The Capitol

When: 11 a.m.


"Plant a Flag for Freedom" Veterans Salute

When: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Heritage Park, Wayzata


We Salute our Veterans

Where: Grace Church, 9301 Eden Prairie Road, Eden Prairie

When: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.


Stillwater Veterans Memorial

Where: 138 Pine St. W, Stillwater

When: 11 to 11:30 a.m.


White Bear Lake Veterans Day Observance

Where: St. John Episcopal Cemetary

When: 2 p.m.
