Six cases of mumps have been confirmed among students at the University of Minnesota, the school's vice president for health sciences and dean of the medical school said in an email Thursday.

The email from Dr. Brooks Jackson, which was addressed to students, faculty and staff, said state health officials informed the school of the six cases, but said all six cases have been mild.
