They came, they saw, they left ... a lot of them.
The Transportation Security Administration at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport has confirmed the airport set a one-day record for the number of people screened at security checkpoints Monday with a total of 60,833.
The day after the Super Bowl is always a busy one at the airport in the host city, and Monday breaks MSP's old mark of 47,200 people, set back in March of last year.
On a typical day, around 34,000 people pass through security checkpoints at the airport, according to a release from TSA.
The release states additional resources were added to supplement the workforce at MSP, including more than 100 TSA officers from other airports.
