Residents of a senior living community in Plymouth got active Friday.

More than 70 seniors took part in the first “Summer Senior Games” event at Trillium Woods.

The athletes – who are all 62 years old and older – were on seven teams and competed in volleyball, golf, swimming, pickleball, bean bag toss and water balloon shot put.

Residents included a former marathon runner and a retired professional ice skater.

The event kicked off with an opening ceremony, and gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to the top winners in each sport.
