New Airline Promises $9 Flights, Will It Fly?

Jet America is set to starting flying out of the Twin Cities in mid-August, but very few flyers know anything about them.
The airline will starts flying from Lansing's Capital Reguion International Airport and Toledo Express to Melbourne, FL and Newark, NJ July 13.
It will be adding adding Toledo to MSP August 14, but so far has done little to let consumers know about it. In fact, airport officials tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Jet America has not signed a lease yet to secure a gate at either the Lindbergh or Humphrey Terminals.
Jet America will be offering nine seats for $9. After taxes, tickets will cost $49.20. Airline officials tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS the airline sold 6,000 tickets online when the deal was first announced.
So far, the new airline has only one plane that will fly all the routes.
