St. Paul Police have identified the man who was shot and killed by two officers last week outside of a Holiday gas station.
The man is 36-year-old Guillermo Canas of St. Paul. Authorities say he was throwing large rocks through car windows and swinging a pipe around 7 a.m. Thursday. When officers Mark Grundhauser and Joseph Sandquist responded to the call and approached him, Canas was “physically and aggressively” interacting with them.
St. Paul Police Chief Tom Smith says the officers believed their lives were in jeopardy and shot and killed Canas.
