The final attendance numbers are in, and more than 1.8 million people went to the Minnesota State Fair this year, breaking the overall attendance record.
State fair officials say 1,824,830 people attended the state fair. That breaks the past overall attendance record of 1,790,497 people set in 2009.
The 159,430 people that went to the fair on the last day, Labor Day, pushed the numbers high enough to set the record. That number is just less than 5,000 people shy of last year’s daily attendance record for Labor Day.
Two daily attendance records were also set this year. There were 133,595 people at the fair on Tuesday, Aug. 26, and 252,092 visitors on Saturday, Aug. 30. That Saturday was also the best-attended single day of all time.
