A woman convicted of murdering her newborn baby in Oakdale in 2007, will serve seven more years in prison.

A Washington County judge sentenced Nicole Beecroft, now 24, to 14 1/2 years in prison for the murder of her daughter. The judge gave Beecroft credit for the seven years she’s already served. Once she is released, Beecroft will serve another seven years of supervised release.

Beecroft was 17 when she was convicted of first-degree murder. She was sent to prison with no possibility of parole. In 2012, the Minnesota Supreme Court granted her a new trial because of witness tampering. She was then found guilty of second-degree murder in the fall of 2013.
