Police Chase Robbery Suspects across Twin Cities

One person is in custody after an armed robbery and chase with police across the the Twin Cities on Wednesday night, according to St. Paul police.

Police say two suspects robbed the Pawn America store on University Avenue and Fry Street in St. Paul around 8 p.m. The suspects took off on a motorcycle and ended up in Minneapolis across the Lake Street Bridge, where they ditched the bike, according to police.

The suspects then went toward the water, where at least one was taken into custody. Police are still searching for the second suspect.

St. Paul Police Cmdr. Eric Anderson says an "assault-style rifle" was recovered near the water.

Officials from both Minneapolis and St. Paul police departments were in the area Wednesday night, as well as University of Minnesota authorities and a State Patrol helicopter.
