Authorities say four people have been arrested after two 21-year-old men were assaulted and critically injured early Saturday morning.
Authorities say Anthony Michael McCollum of Hilltop and Yani Rudy Singh of Columbia Heights were found stabbed several times with life-threatening injuries just before 4:30 a.m. in the area of 77th Avenue and Main Street.
Officers say the men were attacked at a different location and tried to drive away from their attackers to the hospital.
One of the men, who was conscious when police arrived on scene, says he and his friend were at the Two Stooges bar in Fridley until 2 a.m. They met two women at the bar and agreed to give them a ride to Mississippi Street and University Avenue in Fridley.
When McCollum and Singh arrived in that area, two other men approached and started assaulting them, according to law enforcement. The two eventually drove away, looking for medical care.
McCollum was taken to a hospital in Fridley; Singh was taken to a Minneapolis hospital. Authorities say both men remain in critical condition and are in intensive care.
The women ran off following the attack, authorities say. McCollum and Singh weren’t able to describe the suspects in detail to police because of their injuries.
On Sunday, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office confirmed two men and two woman were arrested. Charges have not been filed yet. The suspects have been identified as Kevin Moore of Spring Lake Park, Leanne Todd of Minneapolis, Tiffani Ivy of St. Paul and Marcus Fultz with no known permanent address.
The incident remains under investigation.
